We’re Brooks Thomas and AJ Hansen – longtime friends, bartenders, servers, and now proud co-owners of Jewel of the North Neighborhood Gastropub nestled right here in Spokane, Washington’s oldest neighborhood, Browne’s Addition. This place is more than just a gastropub to us- it’s a reflection of the community we love, the people we’ve worked alongside for years, and the kind of spot we always wished existed.

Our mission is simple: create a space that feels like home, with food and drinks we’re genuinely proud to serve. Everything on our menu is crafted with care and intention. Our burgers? They’re made with grass-fed beef sourced directly in Spokane County from Browning Beef Cattle Ranch in Spangle, WA. These folks raise their cattle the right way from start to finish -no feedlots, no hormones, no chemicals- resulting in leaner, flavorful product that not only tastes great but reflects our commitment to quality and wellness.

We’ve built our team from people we’ve shared shifts with over the years- folks who are passionate, talented, and ready to build something real. This is a place where familiar faces serve up cold drinks, solid meals, and genuine hospitality.

Whether you’re swinging by for a quick bite, a round of drinks with friends, enjoying our dog friendly patio, (we also have a dog menu with portions of the proceeds to benefit the Spokane Humane Society!), or just want to hang somewhere that feels like your local hangout- we’ve got you. Welcome to Jewel of the North. We’re glad you’re here.
